Parachute is a series of hand-pieced textile works created from vintage and discarded fabrics. Each fragment is approached intuitively, allowing material qualities—texture, weight, colour, and history—to guide their placement. As the pieces are joined, relationships emerge, sometimes subtle, sometimes unexpected, shifting energy and establishing balance across the composition. Through this process, cohesion arises from difference, and tension resolves into harmony. The works are meditations on touch, material memory, and the transformative possibilities embedded in both fibre and making, inviting viewers to reconsider how fragments, remnants, and overlooked materials can hold meaning, presence, and beauty.
