With a degree in Fine Art and a background in set design and art direction, I founded my studio in 2018 after an extended research trip through India. It began as a platform to share what I found there: the cloth, the makers, and the stories held in both.

Drawn to a medium so bound to the body, the earth and culture, I soon took up hand weaving myself, as both a material and a philosophical practice. For several years the studio held this practice through home textiles, centred on local, natural materials and traditional techniques, and guided by an obsessive love of cloth, the joy of making, and a belief in living with things made with intention.

That path has brought me back to my original calling as an artist. My work draws on the layering of historical textile forms, the material realities of the world around me, and the expansive, deep-time landscapes of Southern Africa. I think of each piece as a material meditation: a distillation of essential elements into enduring works, deeply rooted in place, that hold the hours of care and attention poured into them.

For me, making is a ritual: a physical and philosophical practice that turns raw and remnant material into something that both holds and transforms experience. Running through everything I make is a sense of the everyday made sacred, through intention and a quiet awareness of the energy each piece carries.

Alongside my independent practice, I work with interior designers, architects and art consultants to create commissioned works for hospitality and residential spaces. Each commission begins with a conversation around the vision for the space and the feeling it seeks to evoke, considering its natural setting, light, scale and materials, and the experience of the people who will live in or move through it. In collaboration with designers, I develop tapestries and textile works that sit naturally within the wider atmosphere while holding their own presence as art.

My intention is simple: to create beautiful pieces, with care, that are felt as much as they are seen, and that bring texture, story and a deeper sense of place to the spaces we live in.
